Present Capabilities

Presently Oliver-Rhoads & Associates (ORA) has completed projects in 48 states, Europe, and Central America. The projects range from educational, institutional, medical, office, entertainment venues, hospitality and restaurant, data centers, energy related projects (LEED), and federal and state related efforts.  Additionally we are continuously engaged in providing design services for new mechanical, plumbing/piping, and electrical systems that are not related to Architectural efforts.

ORA has, in addition to the design personnel, a dedicated Field Services Division headed by a former DoE Maintenance Director thus allowing us to quickly and accurately identify existing conditions and provide assistance to Maintenance Staff at a variety of facilities.

Finally ORA routinely takes the traditional lead design role in bringing the entire design staff to the project, serving as the design liaison for the owner and producing the bid package and bidding the project if desired.

These services include preliminary investigations, reports, studies, preparation of design drawings and specifications, system integration, and construction observation.  ORA presently has professionals registered in over 40 states.

History

Established in 1995, in Tullahoma, Tennessee, Oliver-Rhoads & Associates was founded by Mr. Barry Rhoads and Mr. Dean Oliver as a full service consulting engineering firm, with the intent to provide superior quality services at all levels.  The firm was started from a “ground-zero” concept, in that no attempt was made to bring clientele from their former employers.  The firm has since added two partners; Mr. Tim Little and Mr. Tony Gipson to complement the technical and managerial capabilities of the firm.
The entire staff at ORA has had multiple project experience and very large project experience gained while working at large Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and NASA bases.
ORA has been in involved in many large complex projects since its inception; most notably a very large Data Center in Europe demonstrating the ability of the staff to respond across international and cultural boundaries.
